A jazz club has been found in Ghana! My life is complete. Okay, not quite. I still need a girl...but we're getting there. This last weekend I went to Kumasi, the cultural capital of Ghana, visited a friend and then went to this awesome lake formed out of a crater. I sat by the water and did not move for close to four hours. It was fantastic. Recently the challenge has been balancing between the ideologies of African and American culture. Both are entirley different, and it severly messes with my head the more I think about it. For instance, in the states it's all about personal gain. Here, the individual is supressed. Anyways, I will write again shortly.
Best,
WIll

Dear Will,
I would like to know more about the differences and the similarities between the cultures and the Jazz Club.
Wow-siting still for 4 hours. Love,
Mom

Always enjoy learning about the challenges of adapting to Ghanaian culture. Nice to know you had some peaceful time by the lake. Congrats on finding the jazz club.

Hi will: I am curious about the celebrations (if any) around either Halloween or All Saints Day? Does religion play much of a part in the culture? How safe is it to mail you things? For example, does mail get to you unopened and complete? What about packages? Have you checked this out yet? With the Holiday season, it will be good to know. Maybe I could send you a trial package to see what actually gets thru...Anyway it's nice to know there are lakes, and that you found solice by one of them.hugs, auntie lynda
